Aviation kerosene ТS-1

Aviation kerosene ТS-1 (GOST 10227-86) is obtained from middle-distillate fraction of petroleum by means of petroleum straight refining, or in composition with hydrotreated or demercaptanized component. Hydrotreating or demercaptanization are used for bringing fuel into the standard requirements of total or sour sulfur composition.

Basic performance characteristics (aviation kerosene ТS-1): good vaporizability for assuring combustion efficiency; high efficiency and heat of combustion to determine distance of flight; good pumpability and low-temperature properties for injection to the combustion chamber; low tendency to deposit formation; good compatibleness with materials and wear-preventive and antistatic properties.

Range of application: aviation kerosene ТS-1 is intended for use in aircrafts of subsonic aviation.

Technical characteristics (aviation kerosene ТS-1):

  • Density at 20°С – not less 780 kg/m3.
  • Temperature of refining beginning – 150 °С.
  • 10% are refined at a temperature – not above 165°С.
  • 50% are refined at a temperature – not above 195°С.
  • 90% are refined at a temperature – not above 230°С.
  • 98% are refined at a temperature – not above 250°С.
  • Kinematic viscosity: at 20°С, not less 1,3 (1,3) mm2/s (сSt).
  • Kinematic viscosity: at -40°С, not more 8 mm2/s (сSt).
  • Low temperature of combustion – not les 43120 kJ/kg.
  • Smoke point – not less 25 mm.
  • Acidity, mg КОН in 100 cm3 of fuel, not more 0,7.
  • Iodine index, g of iodine in 100 g of fuel, not more 2,5.
  • Flash point, determined in the closed cup – not below 28 °С
  • Chilling point – not above -50 °С
  • Thermo-oxidative stability in static conditions at 150°С, sediment concentration mg in 100 сm3 of fuel, not more 18.
  • Mass fraction of aromatic hydrocarbons – not more 22 %.
  • Mass fraction of total sulfur – not more 0,2 %.
  • Mass fraction of sour sulfur – not more 0.003 %.
  • Copper plate test at 100°С, 3 h. sustain.
  • Ash content – not more 0,003 %.
